Professional and Continuing Education

Learning for Life

The University of Cambridge, Professional and Continuing Education is the world’s oldest university department specialising in continuing education, established in 1873. It is based at the 16th-century Madingley Hall, four miles west of Cambridge, where it offers flexible, accessible Cambridge education to learners at all stages of life.

As the University’s largest and longest-standing provider of part-time education, PACE supports students of all levels, backgrounds and learning goals, whether they are returning to study, pursuing personal enrichment, or enhancing professional qualifications.

Independent from the College and School system, PACE has uniquely wide access to the University’s academic expertise and resources. From in-person weekend courses to online short courses and part-time Master’s degrees, many programmes are open-entry, and bursaries and concessions are available to help fund learning.
